March 9 – A Promise Made Early, Dear Child

I am writing to remind you how to be yourself. I’m crazy for your happiness, and love you too dearly for words. Listen to your silent song, close your eyes and let it drift from the tip of your hair down through your heart and out through your toes. Sit in wild flowers, sleep in the long grass, and dream, dream, dream. Laugh because your heart aches and swim when you feel the chill begin to clasp your bones. Life is more than moving forward, it’s about grasping perfect moments and taking chances on others and on yourself. Watch fireflies dance in moonlight, firelight flicker and be sure to watch the spaces between the stars as much as you watch those ever glowing reminders of infinity outside ourselves. We are secrets and memories, sadness and happiness, hollow promises and forged alliances. We burn with knowledge, always trying to achieve that next step, forgetting all the lessons before us, the romance and the silence. We are machine, we are man, we are human. We feel, we feel, we feel. We are love…
You will shine, in my eyes, you will shine.

March 8 – Silent Fisherman Feels a Tug on the Line

If I could write a thousand words
This page would be filled
With sonnets and dramatic prose
All expressing a love
So binding it takes the breath
Out of the lungs
And replaces it with the infinite
Number of stars and black space
Bursting in the Universe

But my mouth and hands are hollow
Yearning to leave traces
On the paper of your touch
Your lips, their smile, their kiss
No paper knows the justice
Of romance and devotion
Cannot express emotion
Without falling flat
Without changing it to something less

So I keep the thoughts I hold
The memories we share
The moments I have stolen
With your heart
Locked up in my soul
Trapped in my eyes
Dripping through my veins
Leaking through my pores
Only to be caught by you

March 7 – Simple Merger

When love moved in
The air seemed to cease
But the room seemed to grow
And the walls to shake

We’re floating together
Drifting Away
Wind tearing our tethers
On a happy new day

Our house is a home
Cluttered with memories
We suffocate on warmth
While the windows sigh

We’re sinking as one
Stone to the floor
Water lapping our bones
We can’t ask for more

We’re filling it with new life
A little bundle of joy
Love will grow bigger
Rooms exploding with laughter

We’re building our future
One ladder step at a time
We’ll debate nature or nurture
I’m so ecstatic you’re mine

March 6 – When Summer Comes

Everything is grape crush, candy canes and frosted pink sunshine
I love your pastel smile, those painted lips
We lie under the pillow clouds as they drift, ship on sea, sheep in air
Your eyes a startled blue, magnetic charge
We spring up, tall as wild flowers, water seeping through our toes
I love your tingle fingers, magic makers
We’re twisted roots, entwined together, stretching up into the sky
Your heart beats raindrops, summer bloom

We’re hopeless moments, etched into bark, love surrounding
I love you eternal, you love me infinity

March 5 – The House that Fell

I fear myself entombed
Trapped within the dark
Stale air surrounds me
The stench of sickness
Of death and decay
I scrape, scrape, scrape
You’ve buried me here
Where no one can hear
Screams from my throat
The knock of my hands
The beat of my heart
I scrape, scrape, scrape
There’s no escaping
Fate ties my wrists
You knew I would die
And you wait for me
To come drag you
Down, down, down.

March 4 – Broken World Corked

And in this moment I am not willing to bend
I will wait until the world tears me in half

Stars could shred me with their shine
I’d still look up and say “I dare you!”

Planets colliding, dark spaces growing
You’ll know how I feel by the end of the world

I’ll lie with you on the broken ground, words ripped apart around
We’ll link hands across the cracked surface

When the waves take us, we’ll breathe
For the first time

March 3 – Lost Inside the Wilted Brick

One turn down the old round house
She shouts inside
We are immortal          we are immortal

If only we knew how to live

Dust flies out to cover eyes
Blinking turns them into rain

She’s burning with a false sense of hope
I know your name       I know your name

If only you could say it without breaking

Twisted rope lies falling up
Boats wave on rocks, clear glass skies

She can hear the ocean in the palm of her hand
I could be free             I could be free

Just maybe, with the right momentum

We weren’t all of us awful before the moon lit up
When the house grew wild
And the mushrooms dripped with dew and mould
We weren’t all of us bad before the sky grew dark
When the lights went out
And the gentle whir of electric rhythm vanished
We weren’t all of us destined for nothing

One turn round the old barn door
She shouts so quiet
We are immortal         we are immortal

If only we weren’t dying to live

– Tegan Thuss

March 2 – unfinished

We touch in secret with our hands
A silent prayer
Love spilling from my palm to yours
While other’s whisper hate

Our smiles glowing with a hidden knowledge
Of how hearts grow
The simplest magic being the corner of a smile
Lips slowly parting

– Tegan Thuss

P.S. Sorry for the long delay, I will be trying to catch up within the next few days.

March 1 – Pheromones

I am ready to collapse into you
You’ve got me wrecked
Completely torn open
You can see inside, hole so big
Fits you just right
I’m folding in, hold me up
Don’t let me fall to pieces
Without knowing
That you’ll break apart with me
Unwind my skin
Release the pent up air
I’m sighing out your name
Like a key unlocking love
You’ve turned me round
Twisted roots and blossoms
Fluttering in my heart
This cage door melted
When you touched my lips

I am fine

February 29 – Winter’s Kiss

These tears fall down my cheeks like leaves
Winter’s coming
I can feel the cool wind in the sighs escaping my lips
Frostbite clings to fingers that used to feel warmth
There is a chill that runs down my spine
Snowflakes under skin
Autumn dusk spills an orange sun on my tinted cheeks
Darkness clasps my shoulders, bare
Goodbye still lingers in the air
